Annie Braidwood’s Campaign For the 85th House District

Annie Braidwood is campaigning to become the member of the Michigan House of Representatives representing Michigan’s 85th House district, located in Saginaw and Shiawassee counties. This seat will be crucial in the Democratic effort to retake the State House. Campaign interns will gain hands on experience and knowledge, and will play a vital role in obtaining a Democratic majority.

Interns will directly assist campaign staff with fundraising and organizing campaign finances and expenditures. Fellowship with the Michigan Senate Democrats

The Michigan Senate Democrats are seeking eager young Democrats to fill Fellowship roles for the 2014 Election Season.Fellowships consist of 25-40 hours per week of work based mainly out of the headquarters inLansing. Election Season Fellowships begin on June 2nd and end on November 14th. Slight changes in the start date can be accommodated due to academic reasons.

If you’re a political science major, or just a Democrat interested in politics, this is the opportunity for you. You will have the chance to see how a political organization is run, and what is required day-to-day for the senate campaign to function.

Each fellow is assigned particular districts to research and work with other Senate staff to implement the district-by-district campaign strategy for 2014. Some fellows will work with the finance department, the field department, the political department, the communications department, the technology and social media department or a mixture of all based on your skills and qualifications.

These opportunities do come with college credit for those who are eligible. No stipends are provided. You must have a laptop computer.

Qualified fellows should:

1. be dependable, detail-oriented, motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced environment;

2. be interested in the political process as well as be knowledgeable about issues;

3. be a member of the Michigan Democratic Party or consider themselves a Democrat;

4. be available to work at least 25-40 hours each week.

Fellows and interns play a vital role in caucus operations, and we rely a great deal on our fellows and interns to produce high-level work.

Brenda Lawrence For Congress

For the last 20 years, Brenda Lawrence has served as an elected official in the City of Southfield. In 2001, Lawrence became the first female and first African-American Mayor of Southfield. She was resoundingly re-elected three times. She is a Democrat, and is currently running for the United States Congress in Michigan’s 14th District.

The Brenda Lawrence for Congress Internship Program is designed for a group of exceptional students who are committed to the values of Progressive politics and are seeking an empowering opportunity to elect a progressive leader to Congress in 2014.

The Internship is also designed to provide training and leadership development of future political leaders, staff and candidates through an intensive campaign experience.
